Last weekend was the 2nd annual Utah hang. This years event was held in the Flaming Gorge area of NE Utah. I headed out on Wednesday for the 500 mile drive to the hang. By Thursday evening the campground was filled with hammock campers from various areas of the western US. We had a great time and a delicious pot luck dinner on Friday evening. Here is a quick video of the area and the hang.

Last week was the First Idaho Spring Meat and Greet and it was a great event. Everyone was already talking about next springs trip and planning on how to make it an even bigger event. But more on that in the future. For right now I want to share with you about this years Meat and Greet. We had both veteran and newby hangers in attandance with several of them arriving just in time for dinner. We set up in a large clearing just off the road with room for everyone to pick their own sets of trees. We had DIY and major manufactures hammocks set up and everyone spent time talking gear and looking over each others set ups. As the sun started to go down on Friday night the Pot Luck was in full swing with excellent dutch oven ribs cooked by Keith of Elko NV who made the drive up. Lentil and Ham soup was made by Ken and Cassandra of Boise and was very tasty. Ty also from Boise fried up some potatoes and veg...Hey it was the Idaho Meat and Greet...did not think we would skip the taters did you? I made Meat Balls with bacon, onion and sauce. It as a great weekend with some good friends and new ones. On Saturday we took a little day hike, hoping to get into a lake as the ice is coming off...aka hungry fish that have not seen the sun and fresh bugs in 8 months....but the cool spring had other plans and the lake was still covered in ice. Be sure to check back as we work to plan future events and the next
