The Whoopie Sling is an adjustable hammock suspension line that can replace heavier and bulkier stock suspensions on your hammocks. Our Whoopie Sling comes with a fixed eye that can be larks headed on to your hammocks whipping bundle or girth hitched through a sewn channel. We start with 15' of 7/64 inch Amsteel to make a whoopie sling with a great range of adjustability. And with a 10" bury they have superior holding power for even the biggest camping hammock user. Finished length of 6 foot. Amsteel is made from high-modulus polyethylene, (HMPE) also know as Dyneema or Spectra. With an average strength of 1600 pounds 7/64 Amsteel, while thin and light can handle any hammock camper.
Whoopie slings function much like a Chinese finger trap, as the line passes through itself it can slide easily when there is no tension on the line, but add some weight and the line will lock down...just like the finger trap.
