The Plan:
Wednesday the 6th we will meet up at the Redfish Lodge area, grab any food or snacks at the lodge/store and set up gear at the North Shore Picnic area for a morning start across the lake. Paddlers will set off along the east shore to paddle the 5 mile RedFish Lake to the Inlet Transfer camp. For those not looking to paddle, there is a trail from RedFish Lodge area to the camp, and the lodge offers Speed boat shuttle service to the camp. The Camp is often quiet at night as it's mostly used as a setting off point for hiking in the Sawtooth wilderness area. This campground is packed with lodgepole pines making for loads of perfect hammock camping trees. The Camp has 2 vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables and room for all that would like to join. Thursday the 7th we will day hike to along RedFish Creek for some exploring and fishing. Alternatively the 1 mile hike to Lily Pad lake is close to the camp for those that may want a shorter stoll. Friday the 8th we will pack up and head back to the Lodge for Lunch on the grass before heading home. The area features miles and miles of trails to explore, waterfalls, swimming, and lots of wildlife along with fishing in the lake and inlet stream. ❗️Be aware there is very limited/no cell service at the campground. And there is water but it must be filtered/pumped to be clean for drinking. |
Location:
The picnic area is day use only and we will drop gear off, inflate boards and set up. longer term parking is located at the Redfish trail head, 0.4 miles away here: https://goo.gl/maps/ci6bA5jTXjmDUcBEA Note about food storage :
starting in 23' all food in the backcountry must be stored following bear proof storage methods...bear can, or bear bag hang. Come prepared to store your food safely, rangers are issuing tickets for not complying with the new regulations in backcountry camping areas. |
