APEX is the newest and greatest version of Climashield available. It's the same weight as our normal 3 season insulation but it will pack down 15-20% smaller and be slightly warmer at the same time. |

All KAQ's are made with 3 season(unless upgrades are selected) Climashield Synthetic insulation. Climashield is the industry leader in synthetic insulation and is used by many major outdoor brands. We at Arrowhead Equipment have produced the KAQ line for over 4 years with literally thousands of quilts produced to date.
Climashield is THE most durable synthetic available, it will insulate even in humid conditions where other insulations will loose loft and will dry faster than other insulations.
We produce a wide range of quilt to suite everyone and a wide range of hammock types and styles.
Potomac Under Quilt

The Potomac is the first commercially available hammock under-quilt with synthetic insulation specifically designed for the Hennessy Hammock. .
It uses full perimeter elastic which is adjustable at all four sides. This allows for a fully customizable fit that eliminates drafts in cold weather and allows for ventilation when it's warmer out. Each perimeter shock cord uses a sewn in cord lock allowing one handed adjustment. The Potomac is shaped to fit a Hennessy Ultralight Backpacker Asym, but will work with any model Hennessy.
Attaching the Potomac to your hammock is extremely quick and easy. All attachment cords are elastic and is fully adjustable for height and length. depending on the weather, it can be set up in one of two modes. For colder weather, each end of the under-quilt is clipped up and over the hammock ridge line. This creates an excellent bathtub-style fit that wraps it up and around you. In warmer weather, the end corners can be left down. Side loops can be threaded through Hennessy side tie outs for a close fit without the wrap around warmth of the cold mode.

New River Under Quilt

The New River quilt is the newest addition to the KAQ family. It is designed to fit all gathered end type hammocks. If you have a Speer, Clark, Claytor, ENO, Black Bird etc. and need an underquilt, this is the one for you. Construction of the quilt is similar to the Potomac, but this quilt is rectangular and is flat. In a pinch, you could use this as a top quilt. The New River does not use shock cord around the perimeter for a suspension system. There is a drawstring channel on each end as well as shock cord loops that attach the quilt to your hammock suspension. Along each side, there are 3 grosgrain loops that can be used to help hold up the quilt. The one on the right side foot end is useful for those who have a BlackBird hammock. This will help to keep the hammock inside the quilt during the night keeping your feet nice and warm. Regular fits up to 6 foot tall, Long to 6 foot 6 inch tall users.

The Jarbidge River under quilt is designed to offer a more trim variation to our quilt designs. At 42" wide by 58" long it gives shoulder to shoulder and neck to ankle coverage for many folks. Weighing in at under 20oz's(3season) the Jarbidge is a great choice for those looking to save some weight over a full size quilt but still looking to make use of a small pad for their feet. 3 Season Rated to the 30's for most users, 1 season rated to 50's for most users.

The Ridge Creek

The Ridge Creek is Specifically designed for the Warbonnet Outdoors Ridge Runner Hammock. At just 16 ounces (3 season) The Ridge Creek featured Dual Differential construction, Adjustable fit to vent in warm conditions (adjustable while in the hammock), quad cat cut edges for a shaped fit specifically to the Ridge Runner. Fitted from just below the head shelf to more than 3/4 of the length of the hammock, with the use of a small food pad under your feet for full insulation. Easy no fiddle set up, simply connect the 4 micro carabiners to the webbing at the spreader bar buckles, tighten the foot end cords and vent cord until the quilt hugs the hammock, hop in and the Ridge Creek will heat you right up. The Owyhee Top Quilt
In the winter of 1819, three Owyhee Explorers (Natives of the Sandwich Islands) ventured into the mountains to the south of Boise in the Idaho Territory. They were never seen or heard from again. From then on the mountain range was referred to as the Owyhees in remembrance of the three explorers far from home that set out to explore a mountain range that stands alone above the surrounding dessert .
The Owyhee Top quilt is dedicated to the same spirit of exploration, taking KAQ in a new direction, exploring the possibilities that lay just beyond the next new ridge. The Owyhee has a Omni Tape Velcro Foot box and Tapered slightly with a cinching bottom. The 3S version features 5 oz Climashield and will take most users into the 30's. Also available in 1S with 3 oz Climashield that will be good for most users into the 50's.
Regular length will fit up to 5 foot 10 inch tall person with up to a size 10 shoe. Regular length weight: 1 pound 11 oz. Long length will fit up to 6 foot 4 inch tall person with up to a size 12 shoe Long length weight: 1 pound 15 oz.

Triangle Thingies

The UQ Triangle Thingies help to improve the hang of a under quilt on many popular hammocks. By changing the angle at which the quilt hangs you get a better and easier fit for many quilts. Lifting the quilt into place under the hammock works better than trying to pull it up from the ends of the hammock the way many quilts have hung in the past. Now with the UQTT's even some of the heavier winter quilts will hold to the hammock with a better fit, resulting in fewer air gaps and less chance of the quilt sagging away from the hammock during the night.
The UQTT's attache to the base of your hammock suspension, they adjust using Line Locks with shock cord lines to micro carabiners that will clip onto the corner loops on many under quilts (not all quilts can be used with UQTT's) And hammocks with a ridgeline work best to help support the UQTT and the quilt. UQTT's are made from Sil nylon or PU coated nylon. Weight is 1 3/4 oz per pair.
Please note: UQTT's are available in 2 sizes, one to accommodate full length under quilts and one to accommodate partial length quilts. Be sure to note which length you need for best fit.
